A comprehensive approach of precision farming begins with crop planning of tillage, planting, chemical application, harvesting, and post harvest processing. Soil nutrient spatial variability map is important in precision farming. The objective of this study is to quantify and map spatial distribution of selected soil nutrients (N, P, K) for site-specific management. The study was carried out at Dusun Durian Estate, an oil palm plantation on an alluvial soil, within geographic coordinates of 311,078 m to 312,062 m north and 385,816 m to 386,082 m east. Soil data collection at 0 to 15 cm depth was conducted using systematic sampling. The nutrients were analyzed for spatial dependence and map interpolation using Geostatistical software and GIS for manipulation of data. An Omni Star Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) was used to determine precise sampling sites. In general, total soil N and available P in the study area can be classified into low and moderate levels, respectively, whereas, exchangeable K from medium to high levels. Total N has a close relationship with soil organic C, while available P is highly correlated with soil pH. Geostatistical analysis showed that all the soil nutrients have low spatial dependence. The ranges of total N, available P and exchangeable K were about 58 m, 117 m and 66 m, respectively. These results implies that there is a need for a uniform fertilizer treatment of N and P for this site.
