The aim of this research was to calculate sulphur and nitrogen balance for the four crops grown in four-course rotation in the two-factorial experiment during 1996-99. The sulphur and nitrogen concentrations in crop products, yield and sulphur uptake (per yield unit and total) were measured. The highest values of sulphur deficit was observed for crops with high sulphur demands, like rape and maize (40 kg S per ha) and in the treatments with the highest rates of nitrogen fertilizers
