The research was carried out to determine the influence of differentiated tillage and postharvest management of straw on soil water content and yielding of plants. The experimental factors were: I - different modes of tillage: A - traditional ploughing, B - zero-tillage, weed control with herbicides, direct drilling. II - 5-modes of straw management. The yielding of crops was differentiated, with moderate deficit of precipitation, irrespective of straw management, significantly lower yields were those of plants grown with zero-tillage. At high deficit of precipitation the yields were very low, that effect being not changed by none of the experimental variants tested
