The females, shortly after egg laying, several times excreted droplets of liquid, and smeared them on the fruit surface drawing the abdomen. Regular discrimination of so treated fruits allows to suggest, that this substance is of pheromone character. It can play the role of ODP-oviposition dettering pheromone. The factor limiting egg laying on cherries is fast hardening of fruit pericarp. Optimal conditions last about 2 weeks after petol falling
