Communities of weevils (Coleoptera, Curculionidae) on willow Salix fragilis L. and on alder Alnus glutinosa L.  [2000]

Salix fragilis and Alnus glutinosa were analysed with regard to both occurence and abundance of weevils (Curculionidae) during May-September 1998. Total number of weevils species as well as their abundance were higher on Salix fragilis (20 species, 124 individuals) as compared to Alnus glutinosa (22 species, 160 individuals). Phyllobius pyri was eudominant and frequent on both woody plants compared. The abundance of weevils on both host plants reached the peak in May
