223 wheat genotypes originating from various countries were studied. Drought had no significant effect on stem height and stoma density. Spike length, number of spikelets per spike, and grain mass per spike showed negative reaction to drought. Variability analysis of the studied indices shows that, regardless of treatment, two traits varied most: number of sterile spikelet per spike and grain mass per spike. The genotypes were identified whose morphologic and anatomic traits did not change significantly under the conditions of drought, i.e., the genotypes which are tolerant to water shortage. According to their origin, these genotypes are not from one area, but from various parts of the world.
