Study on the effects of additive on silage quality was carried at Forage Crops Unit, Animal Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. The design used was completely randomized (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were four levels of 85 percent formic acid (T1 = 0, T2 = 2, T3 = 4 and T4 = 6 liter per tones of fresh grass). Ruzi grass (Brachiaria ruziziensis) at 50 days was cut and chopped in to 2-3 inches and canned 750 grams each. The quality of silage were measured weekly for four weeks. The results showed that T2 and T3 were the highest quality silages. The pH of silage was significantly different in week 4.
