abstract
  • A new compound named eucamalol and 4-isopropylbenzyl alcohol were isolated as mosquito repellents from the essential oil of Eucalyptus camaldulensis. The structure of eucamalol was elucidated to be 3-formyl-6 alpha-isopropyl-2-cyclohexen-1 beta-ol by 1H NMR analysis and confirmed by synthesis. Both compounds exhibited potent repellent activities against Aedes aegypti (eng)
