Abstract :

The effect of two soil varieties on the dry matter accumulation during the vegetation period has been investigated. Three year field experiments have been carried out on haplic chernozems from Gorni Dabnik and on Vertisls from Sredets. It has been established, that the maximal dry matter production is obtained at plant density 6500 plants/da on the two soil varieties.
