Red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Oliv. (Col.: Dryophthoridae), is one of the most important pests of different palms in Asia, North Africa and Spain. At present, it is an internal quarantined pest in Saravan region (Sistan & Balouchistan province, Iran). Several experiments on the possibility effect of the pheromone release rate, trap shap and different bait on the attraction and trapping of RPW with pheromone traps, have been carried out in infested date palm groves during 2005-2006 in Saravan region. The reasults indicated that the traps baited with date palm core and aggregation pheromone in comparison with other baits include date fruit, apple fruit and banana stem significantly attracted more beetles of RPW. This subject clearly showed high synergistic effect of date palm core on the aggregation pheromone of the pest. Covered traps with date palm stem tissue attracted significantly more number of beetles in comparison with traps without cover. Date palm stem tissue probably caused all attracted beetles, to walk easily on the buchet trap surface and then to enter into the trap. Also the results showed that the traps baited with general dispensers ( release rate 15-20 mg/d) of aggregation pheromone combined with date palm core in comparison with traps that baited with low release dispensers ( 0.1-0.7 mg/d) significantly attracted more beetles of RPW. This results releaved that pheromone dose had high effect on the attration and capture o
