Field trials were undertaken to respectively evaluate the control effect of 0.045% indoxacarb (3g, 4g and 5g indoxaearb for each active mound) and 0.015% spinosad (15g for each active mound) on the red imported fire ant. The results showed that the control effects for active mounds were 90.2%, 95.0%, 97.5% and 82.1%, restpectively, and those for the workers were 84. 4%, 84.2%, 90.2% and 80.6%, respectively, after treatment for 25 days, The research of colony structure showed that their control effects on colony class were 97.7%, 99.3%, 100% and 96.7%, respectively, after treatment for 25 days. At last, the integrated index for evaluating the control effects of the insecticides on the fire ant was constructed.
