Trapezitsa variety is an early ripening red wine grape variety that was obtained by means of interspecies hybridization at the Institute of Viticulture and Enology – Pleven. It was approved by the Executive Agency on Variety Testing and Seed Control EAVTSC in 2009 and patented in 2010. The leaf blade is average in size, thin, rounded, trilobite, medium-notched, bare. The cluster is medium large, cylindrical, often winged, semi-compact. The berries are medium large, oval, with purple-red colored skin, covered with abundant wax coating. Enhanced resistance to low winter temperatures, mildew and powdery mildew characterizes the variety. Trapezitsa variety grapes suitable for consumption make qualitative red wines without maturing. Its increased resistance to biotic and abiotic stress makes the variety suitable to be grown in all viticultural regions in the country.
