The experience presented in relation to the implementation of integral farms was carried out in five communities of the northeastan region of Lacandona Jungle inhabilited by tzeltales and ch´oles. The objective of this document is to bring out the results obtained mainly in the swine production. The farms were located in a hectare of land given by the communities. Three 10 x 20 m ponds were constructed there for fish breeding (tilapia) and one of 5 x 10 m pond for reproduction, poultry houses, a pig pen for 10 animals, an área for vegetables and fruit trees and another one for a biodigestor. A diet based on corn, Penisetum clandestinum and meat meal was used for both pigs and poultry. Besides there was a table of practical substitution of raw materials available in the área. The results obtained were very variable in each of the farms, depending on the organization or the members in each farm for production, feeding and management of the animals in general. The animals that did not their nutritional necessities had a slower growth compared to those which satisfied there. However there was a compasated growth in the first one shen the diet was changed. There was an important feeding economy due to the use of non-conentional food in pigs and poultry and this allowed a greater yield in those farms. So we consider that it is indispensable to promote the integration of productive systems and the use of non-conventional food in animal feeding. Also it is necessa
ry to use different methods of storage and preservation for the benefit of scaice resource people. In this way people can consume animal protein an increase their nutritional level.
