Natural affection with favus in two chicken flocks (Fayoumi and Rhod-Island) was clinically and mycologically investigated. The infection was experimentally induced in different cross-bred chickens (Dokki-4, Hubbard and L.S.L.). The Hubbard was the most susceptible breed. Spontaneous recovery occurred in Dokki-4 and L.S.L. chickens but not in Hubbard chickens. Although none of the contact birds contracted the infection yet bad management and unhygienic conditions might facilitate the transmission of the disease.
