Utilization of wood mushroom partly from species of Ganoderma treated as a medicine has encourage research activities on pharmacological effects from some active compounds of it. The compounds are in part from the group of polysacharide and terphenoid. The test produce of the compounds is aimed to find out a group of compound that has a significant potential containing a toxic effects and its poisoned dosage. G. lucidum be extracted under Herbone (1994) method by using ethyl asetate, chloroform, chloroform:metanol = 3:1, and base water. Each of resulted fraction was then be tested at white mice. Toxic fraction was then be further diffractioned in a column of gel sylica 60GF254 by using the eluene of benzene:asetone = 4:1 and then be characterized for both group and character of the compound by using gas chromatography, UV and IR spectroscopies. Results of this study indicate that chloroform fraction resulted from extraction of fruiting body of G. lucidum is toxic fraction. Acute toxicity test of chloroform fraction result in value of peroral lethal doze 50 (LD50) for about 3,317 mg/kg of body weight under Trevan regression analysis; and about 3,143 mg/kg body weight under Probyt analysis. Compare to Geason (1969) toxic classification, the values of DL50 are in medium toxic. Based on a qualitative analysis with Liebermann-Bouchard reagent, Gas Chromatography analysis, IR and UV spectroscopy as well as measurement of pH, it is predicted that compound of toxi
c fraction is triterphenoid or seskuiterphenoid having ketones or alkenes cluster with boiling point more than 280 deg. C and ask weak acid
