Canine parvovirus (CPV) is the causative agent of acute haemorrhagic enteritis and myocarditis in dogs. Primer set from a conserved region of VP2 gene of CPV was used in the assay. The DNA was extracted from cell culture adapted CPV at different passage levels, faecal sample from a clinical case and vaccine virus by boiling the samples. Amplification was performed with 30 cycles in a thermocycler. A PCR product of 226 bp was generated in cell culture supernatants, faecal sample and vaccine virus. No amplified product was obtained in negative control.
