Episodes of Simuliidae attacks on domestic animals during the spring of 1991 are reported for the first time in the north-east of Veneto region. Twenty-five animals died. Larval foci of Simuliidae (reptans group) have been identified in an underlying tract of river Piave. The Authors analyze factors which can be involved in the extension of blackfly attacks in Triveneto territory during the last years.
