A few experiments were carried out with fig trees (Masui Dauphine) cultivated in the containers on greenhouses in order to make clear the relation between the fertilizer application and the fruit set, nutritional condition. 1. The cultivation experiment of fig trees applied differ rates of fertilizer showed that the concentration of nitrogen in every parts of trees rose and the amount of that increased with the rate of fertilizer application. 2. The non-fertilizer cultivation experiment showed that the rate of fruit set at every nodes was high with the rate of fertilizer application in the year before. 3. The fertilizer application in the current year raised the rate of fruit set at 6-20 nodes when the amount of fertilizer in the year before is little, and lowered the rate when that is much. 4. When the nitrate ion concentration of petiole juice from middle part of bearing branch in 6-10 leafing stage was 2,500 - 4,000 ppm, the rate of fruit set at that nodes was highest. 5. When the average nitrate ion concentration of petiole juice from the 11 leafing stage to the pinching at 20 node was 2,000 - 3,000 ppm, the rate of fruit set at 11-20 nodes was highest.
