Universiti Pertanian Malaysia was established in 1971 as a result of the merger between the College of Agriculture, Malaya and the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Malaya. The Library of the College of Agriculture, Malaya thus became the Universiti Pertanian Malaysia Library. Didymocarpus dawnii is described from mountains in Perak. It is closely allied to D. calcareus, D. castaneifolius, D. tahanicus and D. venustus and for which a new section, Sect. Venustus, is erected. Didymocarpus pubiflorus is reduced to synonomy with D. venustus
