The research of unevenness degree influence of heating of colza seeds in emf uhf on their energy of germination and viability  [2016]

Main problem arising when processing seed material in electromagnetic field of ultrahigh frequency (EMP UHF) is heating unevenness. Issue of temperature fields distribution in seed material volume remains low-studied. It is connected first of all with a problem of simultaneous measurement of temperature in a set of points of volume of the processed material, to measure which is possible by means of the thermal imager. Therefore the research of influence of degree of unevenness of heating of seeds of colza in EMP microwave installation on their energy of growth became the purpose of our work. For this purpose the seeds of colza, which were previously brought to humidity of 20%, were filled in 3 layers with thickness of about 15 mm each in container with a diameter of 25 cm. Between layers a grid from radiotransparent material was placed. The grid allowed cleaning instantly a layer of seeds for research of distribution of a temperature field of seeds the thermal imager the plane which was under a grid. Processing of seeds of a colza of EMP microwave installation was made at the following input parameters: Ores = 1529 W/dm3, t = 60 s. It was proved by the conducted research of temperature fields that the seeds are heated unevenly in the household microwave installation, which leads to varieties in laboratory viability. On the top layer of the processed material the unevenness of heating varies from 27.3 to 46.7 deg C, the average temperature of the area is 36
.2 deg C with coefficient of variation being 12.9%, viability of seeds is 81.7%. On middle layer the same parameters are 28.2 to 49.7 deg C, 36.2 deg C with 7.9%, 87.2% respectively, and on the lower layer - from 32 to 49.1 deg C, 42.7 deg C with 7.5%, 83.2% respectively. Microwave installation, due to which the coefficient of variation of average temperature does not exceed 2% and laboratory viability increases by 6.0-9.7% in comparison with that of the unevenly heated seeds, was developed.
