Improving leached chernozem structure under influence of liming  [2016]

Studies considering the effect of different rates of dolomite powder (DP) on soil properties were carried out in 2001-2010 in Tatarstan Republic. The soil under study is leached chernozem, moderately heavy loamy. The cultivated crop rotation was the following: fallow – winter rye – corn – spring wheat. DP used has parameters: moisture content – 12.1%; CaCO3 + MgCO3 (CaCO3 – 59-52%, MgCO3 – 44-46%) – 91.6%. DP rates calculated by hydrolytic acidity (Ha) were 0.5; 1.0 and 1.5 of the norm. Full dose of DP (1.0 Ha) corresponded to 8.8 t/ha of a.i. (in physical weight – 10.9 t/ha). Mineral fertilizers (N60P60K60) have been applied annually under the seedbed preparation. Soil samples (1 kg) with undisturbed structure from the layer 0-20 cm were collected in the 4thyear of DP aftereffect in the first ten days of May for the study of structural and aggregate state. Liming contributed to the increase in the proportion of favorable lumpy-granular macrostructure of the soil to 0.25-10 mm. Introduction of DP in all rates increased the content of agronomically valuable particles in the soil to 62.7-69.2%. The number of particles more than 0.25 mm under DP influence increased by 7.4-24.1% in comparison with the control. The greatest magnitudes of structure coefficient (2.0 and 2.2) were noted under the influence of DP applied at rates of 8.8 and 13.2 t/ha. In the control of the arable layer of water-resistant structural units larger than 0.25 mm made 32.8-33.7%, less th
an 0.25 mm – 66,3-67,2%. The studied doses of DP in varying degrees affect the reproduction of the lost water-stable structure of leached chernozem. The proportion of structural units of 0.25 mm under the influence of DP embedded in a dose of 0.5 Ng increased by 7,4-14,4%, 1.0 Ng – 11,7-18,6% to 1 and 5 H – by 16,6-24,1% as compared with the control. Significant crop yield increase depending on dolomite rates was 1.73-3.84 t/ha feed units. Structural state of leached chernozem increased with increase of DP rates.
