Abstract: Numerous non-strenuous, but beneficial physical exercises can be practiced by office workers at their desks, without a lengthy time commitment to an exercise program. Exercises and general suggestions are provided for stretching, preventing backache, and alleviating physical stress during meetings. Among the 10 stretching exercises suggested are isometric palm presses on the desk, touching your toes while seated, and slow rotation of the neck. Ideas for preventing backache include using a foot stool or telephone book, and facing work directly. To alleviate physical stress during meetings, exercises such as crossing and uncrossing the legs, and rotating joints are proposed. A text called "Do It At Your Desk - An Office Worker's Guide To Fitness and Health" is cited. (ch)
