The National Agricultural Library is one of four national libraries of the United States, with locations in Beltsville, Maryland and Washington, D.C. It houses one of the world's largest and most accessible agricultural information collections and serves as the nexus for a national network of state land-grant and U.S. Department of Agriculture field libraries. A handbook for building and training organizational management teams is presented. Exercises are included to develop analytical and problem-solving skills. Part 1 provides a "How to" of team building and development. A questionnaire to evaluate the team is contained in Part 2. Part 3 elaborates on team development, examining such factors on leadership, commitment, critiquing, and creativity. Finally, Part 4 provides training exercises on how to attack specific problems; 46 action projects are presented for development of team-building skills. Participants are trained to work together effectively in a constructive and creative atmosphere
