Thirty three species were collected. The species composition of Culicoides populations and their feeding preference were greatly affected by the host animals. The order of abundance of the main ornithophilic species was C. huffi, C. arakawae and the order of the zoophilic ones was C. peregrinus, C. oxystoma, C. brevitarsis and C. shorti
