Investigation of the effects of cross breeding of horses on more rapid growth and development of the F1 generation progeny has been performed under production conditions. Lipizzan mares and cold blood stallions have been used mostly. Daily weight gain of both colts and fillies has been 962 g in the first 6 months, 864 g from 6 to 12 months and 624 g from 1 to 2 years. Body size values of 6-month-old half-breeds show that they develop far more intensively than the pure bred Lipizzaners. Two-year-old half-breeds are already ready for slaughtering or for work. Their body size is very good compared with parent horse breeds.
