A 3x3 Latin square design was used for studying in three Pelón Mexicano pigs with an initial average live weight of 40.6 kg, nutrient digestibility of diets containing raw cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) meal. Treatments consisted on the inclusion of 0, 15 and 30% of unprocessed cowpea meal in diets prepared with sorghum and soybean meal. Daily feed intake was adjusted according to metabolizable energy requirement (ME) to values ascending to 1.5 ME/live weight0.75. The DM, organic matter, crude fibre, N and energy digestibility of diets containing raw cowpea meal did not significantly (P0.05) differ from those coefficients obtained from the control diet. According to the results of the trial, there was any negative effect of antinutritional factors from the untreated grains on digestibility indices. There was a highly significant correspondence (R20.95; P0.001) among DM, organic matter, crude fibre, N and energy digestibility. The results showed that the assayed levels of raw cowpea meal determined a similar response as compared to the control diet, and therefore an inclusion level of 30% of raw cowpea meal in the diets for pigs has a potential value to be evaluated in performance traits of the animals.
