Absence of Clostridium botulinum spores in Norwegian produced honey  [1986]

Altogether 134 samples of honey produced in Norway were examined for Clostridium botulinum spores by two different methods. One of the methods was described by Sugiyama et. al. (9), in the other Robertsons medium was used for enrichment of spores. The sterile filtrates of the broth produced by either method were injected intraperitoneally into white mice. Clostridium botulinum spores could not be detected in any of the honey samples examined
