Em 08 de Janeiro de 2007 o Instituto INOVAGRI foi criado, em uma reunião na sede da Associação de Engenheiros Agrônomos do Estado do Ceará. Dez profissionais decidiram criar esta associação de especialistas no uso racional da água na agricultura. Desde então, o INOVAGRI desenvolve muitas atividades que ao longo desses dez anos vêm contribuindo para levar aos campos irrigados de todo o Brasil, uma nova perspectiva para a pesquisa, para o desenvolvimento tecnológico e para a inovação da agricultura irrigada.
