Year of lambing had a significant effect on all traits studied except birth weight in goats. Month of lambing significantly affected only part (90-day) and total milk yield in both species. All estimates of heritability for growth traits in sheep were moderate to high, while those in goats were higher than most estimates reported in the literature.
