Bioversity International is a recognized leader in agricultural biodiversity research working with more than 700 partners around the world to improve the lives of smallholder farmers and rural communities. Bioversity International is a member of the CGIAR Consortium and a partner with Rome-based food and agriculture agencies Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and World Food Programme (WFP).  

At these two meetings held concurrently at the Istituto Sperimentale per la Frutticoltura, Rome, the papers presented covered: Priority descriptors for inclusion in the European Prunus database (EPDA); Review of national collections and report from Lithuania; and the Gen Res 61 Project - progress and complementary activities.
