Rainfed multiple cropping involving jute in Bangladesh

The cropping pattern followed by the farmers were surveyed by the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, Bangladesh Rice Research Institute and Bangladesh Research Institute in collaboration with the Directorate of Agriculture. Out of 186 respondent thanas (Police Station) the practice of triple cropping was 78.44 and 60.22 % in irrigated and rainfed conditions respectively. In the rainfed areas the cropping intensity varied from 100% to 300% in individual site. The most common cropping pattern involving jute was jute crops
