Number and quality of young sour cherry trees in the nursery as depending on different methods of grafting [Prunus cerasus]

The effect of the leaf left at the bud and placed in water or in kinetin solutions at the concentrations of 2 and 5 ppm upon the successful budding and growth of young trees was investigated. The compared methods of budding (usual T budding and modified chi-bud method) did not significantly affect the percentage of growing buds. A higher percentage was obtained with the modified chip-bud method (71.2%). The highest number of young trees, the significantly highest trees, the highest total increment was obtained with this method as well
