A simple model of leaf blight of corn caused by Helminthosporium turcicum Pass. was developed using the state-variable approach. Modelling involved partitioning the monocycle component of the polycycle into five components: lesion number, lesion growth, sporulation, dispersal, and deposition. Each of the component was considered a sub-model. The general model has been used to generate theoretical resistance mediated diseases progress curves
