Low, medium and high yield farmers significantly differed in five socio-demographic characteristics as follows: education, place of origin, number of children, number of dependents, and number of children in school. However, they did not differ in age, civil status, dialects understood, membership and position in farm organization, farm seminars attended, reading materials, level of literacy and vocation skills. Significant differences among farmers were observed in the area planted to Burley tobacco, cropping pattern practices, and sharing arrangement. However, there were no differences on farm facilities, number of years in tobacco farming and tenural status
