Methods of inoculation and inoculum densities on varietal resistance to bacterial leaf streak disease [on rice] (Philippines)

Among the methods studied, spraying is the most efficient in obtaining higher infection. Other methods like leaf rub and modified rope method did not increase the disease development but more laborious. By using the spray method of inoculation, a linear relationship between inoculum and disease severity was noted. At the inoculum level of 10(*9) cell/ml infection of all eight rice varieties test showed a higher leaf area infection than that of low inoculum levels. Distinct varietal differences in response to the inoculum levels were observed
