The average production and lactation period of all cross-bred cows are 7.9 kgs/head/day and 10.3 months/head respectively. Roughage is mostly para grass from the pasture and native grass from other places. Rice straw is also used as reserve. Most of the farmers use concentrate from the Nong-Po Cooperative feed mill but a few use complete feed that they themselves produced. The concentrate is composed of 12.38% crude protein. The quantity of feeding for milking cows and calves is 4.88 and 0.88 kgs/head/day respectively. However, there is no standard of feeding. The heifers will be bred at 18 months, mostly by artificial insemination and a few by natural breeding. The conception rate of the artificial insemination is about 39 percent. Two months after parturition the cows will be bred again if they are found in heat. Most of the cows will take about 2-3 months for a dry period and get concentrate 7-60 days before the next calving. Disease checking must be done every year especially for tuberculosis and brucellosis. The diseases that are always found in the farms are foot and mouth disease, haemorrhagic septicaemia and mastitis
