Gene pool divergence and selection of stable parents in black gram
1985
Das Gupta, T. | Das, P.K.
The genetic divergence among 38 varieties of black gram representing a wide spectrum of adaptation was estimated in two different environments by D2 and canonical analyses. No relationship was obtained between geographic distribution and genetic divergence of the varieties. Flowering time and seed size exhibited maximum contribution to the total divergence. Environmental conditions exerted considerable impact on the number and composition of clusters. Suggestion has been made for selecting stable diverse parents so as to initiate a crossing programme for increased yield
