Thyme, Thymus zybis L., is commonly used as a caugh-medicine. Specially liquid thyme extracts are in some countries a fundamental part of many galenic preparations with antitussive action. The present investigations on the essential oil analys is of Thymus zygis L. group; Thymus zygis L.; subsp. zygis; Thymus zygis L.; subsp. gracilis (Boiss.) Morales; Thymus zygis L.; subsp. sylvestris (Hoffmanns. and Link) Morales; confirm two chemovars, and several chemoforms. We present in this paper, the standard chemical composition of these oils
