Results revealed that after the five years cropping, organic carbon, content of the soil increased by 0.085%, 0.143% and 0.059% with 30 and 60 kg P205 and 15 tonnes FYM/ha respectively. Total nitrogen increased significantly with P and FYM application, while available nitrogen increased significantly (143 kg/ha) with FYM application only. Available P increased by 9.5, 16.5 and 14.7 kg/ha with 30 and 60 kg P205 and FYM respectively. Available K increased by 128 and 54 kg/ha with K and FYM respectively. The initial low level of organic carbon raised to medium level in 5 years due to P, K and FYM application while only FYM raised the level of available nitrogen to medium level. P and K levels were raised from medium to high levels in 5 years with P, K and FYM application
