The relationship between persistency of milk production and some economic traits was studied in Gir cattle utilizing 595 lactations of 225 cows in their first six lactations. The average persistency value was 97.66 per cent. The average value for lactation yield, lactation days, weekly peak yield, daily peak yield and calving interval were 1887.4 kg, 315.75 days, 59.68 kg, 9.53 kg and 488.09 days, respectively. The persistency of milk production was significantly and positively related with lactation yield (r=0.3389) lactation days (r=0.81 8) and calving interval ( r=0.1969). There was significant, but negative association between persistency and weekly and daily peak yield. The correlation coefficients between persistency and these two traits were -0.1969 and -0.1370, respectively
