In North and South Bais Bays, crabs (Portunus spp., Scylla spp.) prawns and shrimps (Penaeus spp., Metapenaeus sp.) and mollusks comprised the major catch. The mean monthly harvest of Scylla spp. was 196.3 kg. The mean monthly harvest for prawns and shrimps, on the other hand, was about 176 kg. The shellfish harvest is estimated at 12,000 kg/year. Twenty-seven species of shellfish and 16 species of edible sea cucumbers have been identified. From the Okoy, Pagatban, Tyabanas and Ilog river, 166 fish species belonging to 29 families were collected. Minor catch from mangrove swamps in the Negros-Cebu areas, includes 8 species of the fiddler crab, genus Uca, crabs from the family Grapsidae and Geconcinidae, and the mud lobster, Thalassina anomala
