Evaluation of indigenous plant extracts for the control of early blight of tomato caused by Altenaria solani E11 and Martin
1985
Campos, F.F. | Quilantang, J.R.
Extracts of four indigenous plants were evaluated for their fungicidal properties namely, hierba buena (Mentha cordifolia); sambong (Blunea balsamifera); lagundi (Vitex negundo); and neem tree (Azadirachta indica). Results revealed that among the extracts tested, only hierba buena showed the potential of having a fungicidal property. Other extracts exhibited a zero diameter of zone of inhibition of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 concentrations. Statistical analysis revealed that 1:1 and 1:2 concentrations of hierba buena were significantly better compared with 1:3 concentration in terms of diameter of zone of inhibition
