1985
Phakarat Ratthakhet | Chetsada Luangchaem | Samang Homchun
The survey of the existing forest at Ban Don Chang covered the area of approximately 70 rai (approx. 24 acres). The most prominent species were Shorea obtusa Wall., Xylia xylocarpa Taub., Sindora Siamensis Teijim, ex. Miq., Erythrophleum succirubrum Gag nep., Pterocarpus macrocarpus Kurz., and Irvingia malayana Olive ex A. Benn. These trees were considered valuable and of commercial values to the local people. At present, these forest trees were in the sampling stage (young trees). There were few evidences of tree cutting in the area. Present fuelwood utilized in the village household came mostly from farm land. More natural trees left standing on the upland than on the low land or in paddy field. Replanting was not practised in the village as far as tree cutting was concerned
