According to average, 4 year results of nitrogen appliance (together with phosphorus and potassium) in all variants was attained higher yield of barley than in variant without nitrogen (variant phosphorus - potassium). This increasement amounts 426 kg/ha to 1.379 kg/ha, or averagely 961 kg/ha and is statistically insured. The highest yield in appliance of potassium, amonium nitrate ("KAN") was attained in variant where 1/2 of nitrogen was applied before sowing, and the rest in one top dressing. The smallest yield was in variant where 1/2 of nitrogen was applied before sowing, and the rest in two top dressings. However, between any of the investigated ways of nitrogen appliance there is no statistically insured difference in yield, even between the variants with the highest and the smallest yields. There is no significant difference in yield between "KAN" and carbamide appliance. The greatest of first class barlay corns and the greatest absolute mass of corns are attained in variant phosphorus - potassium, but in this variant is attained the smallest yield. The top dressing of barley with nitrogen affected positively the share of first class corn. In variant where one or two top dressings were applied was increased the mass of first class corn for 8 - 10 % in relation to variant where whole quantity of N was applied before sowing. A tendency of protein increasement appeared in variants where the top dressing with nitrogen was applied. The content of starch was in all variants less than 58 %.
