The influence of 3 protein (14,5; 16,2; 17,2 p. 100 CP) and 2 lysine levels (0,65; 0,75 p. 100) on several growth traits was studied using 144 New Zealand White x California rabbits, weaned at 30 days of age and distributed in lots of 6 animals. The results agree with the present protein recommendations (15,5 p. 100 CP), as a lower level (14,5 p. 100 CP) supposed a decrease in food intake and growth rate (P0,05) and a higher level did not improve significantly rabbit performances. No significative differences were found between the 2 lysine levels for none of the traits under study
