The first effect caused by livestock on agriculture was their condition as a "fertility maker". Only in the last years the livestock was separated from the pasture land; the increase of production is now obtained in a intensive form and the contamination problems are not satisfactorily solved. This paper studies the sheepfold effect on pyrenean pastures. The authors analyse 31 samples from 31 sq.m. parcels to know the main interactions between topography and stock management on each parcel. The chemical evaluation of pasture deals with 20 variables (minerals and organic fractions) which are related with floristic composition and management
