The oil content of the cultivated varieties of India ranges from 40 to 52%. Among all the released varieties only 'TMV 10' has high oil content of 54.4%. Availability of high-oil lines would be very useful in their direct introduction or their indirect utilization in breeding work for evolution of varieties with better yield and oil content. With this objective, germplasm accessions of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea Linn.) available at the National Research Centre for Groundnut, Junagadh were screened for their oil content
