The marketing of Malaysian pepper and its latest developments at domestic and export levels are discussed. At the domestic level, the role of Pepper Marketing Board in regulating pepper marketing practices of its licensed dealers and the Board's involvement in direct trading are briefed. On the export front, the direction of the Malaysian pepper exports, the role of the Pepper Marketing Board in promoting direct exports to consuming countries, and some major difficulties in achieving more direct sales to overseas buyers in terminal markets are discussed.
