Liver pathomorphology in turkeys reared on different floors

The livers were obtained from 200 turkey broilers of the Broad-Breasted White breed kept on metal mesh, mesh covered with plastic, Lignomer mesh, sand or on litter. The least pathological changes and fatty degeneration of hepatocytes were found in livers of turkeys reared on sand or litter and the greatest ones in those kept on lignomer mesh. Moreover the intensity of pathological changes was related with sex of the birds
