Relationship between the milk flow rate and teat size and the number of somatic cells in milk

The experiment was carried out with 115 Black-and-White cows at 2.7 lactations on the average. The frequency of mastitis was the highest in cows with high milking rate at low milk yield by 1 million of somatic cells per 1 ml of milk and in cows with high milk yield by 500 thousands of cells per 1 ml. The effect of teat diameters on udder health was significant in cows whose milk contained over 1.5 million of cells per 1 ml
